Training and Education

In 2014 Obair in conjunction with the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board ran a number of adult education training programmes including Employability Skills, Motor and Bike Mechanics, Youth Work Volunteer Training and Sewing. In 2015 Obair in conjunction with CLDC ran two over 55 computer training and tablet classes.

In 2016 Obair and CLDC(Clare Local Development Company) ran a full time course in Motor Technology (QQI Level 5). This Local Training Initiative has been very successful in the past here at Obair with many participants going on to pursue college or careers in technology. This is the third time this course has been run at Obair having previously won the prestigious Aontas Star Award. Obair has also previously run a Local Training Initiative in Tourism and Heritage studies

Community Creche

Obair Community Crèche and After School Project continue to provide childcare facilities for children aged between 3 months and 13 year, as well as Post Primary. We continually focus on the Social Inclusion needs of Newmarket-on-Fergus and its surrounding areas through our admissions policy, recruitment and training policies.

Meals on Wheels

Obair aims to combat social isolation through the provision and delivery of daily hot meals to older people in Co. Clare. Our 2 course meals are delivered hot from Mon to Fri covering 7 days.

Tradaree Hub

Our newly opened Tradaree Hub houses our Meals on Wheels Service and also consists of remote working offices, food start up incubation hubs, a 16 station training school as well as a revamped Youth Space.
