Obair are lucky to have a fantastic team of volunteers who deliver meals to older persons across the County Mon through Friday. Our largest base is on Main St., Newmarket on Fergus at the purpose built Tradaree Hub. Every day the meals are packed up into transportable ovens and cool boxes and loaded into our vans for delivery to households in Co. Clare. We also deliver to hubs in West Clare(Kilrush base), North Clare(Lisdoonvarna base) and Inagh-Ennistymon (Inagh base). We will also this year be moving further into the East Clare area with the hope of a hub in this region.

In the coming weeks we will be expanding our Inagh-Ennistymon route and are looking for volunteers to join our team. All vetting is carried out by designated Garda Vetting Officers through Obair and the Clare Volunteer Centre. Volunteers usually travel in pairs and each route takes no more than 2 hours max. We have a rota of volunteers for each route and would look for a commitment of 2 hours per week.

We have 2 volunteer events throughout the year, our summer barbecue and our Christmas parties. Volunteering is fun and its also a great way to meet people. Some great friendships and indeed partnerships have been formed down through the years!
