Obair’s Community Shop is open every Wed at the front of The Tradaree Hub. The shop operates on a membership only basis. The customer pays a membership fee of €20 per year which allows them to avail of this important local service. Members are from the local community and are generally Obair service users, ie, they already avail of Meals on Wheels or may be a parent who has a child/children attending our childcare services.

The shop is open and friendly and we only ask for fairness, politeness and that customers bring one bag with them per week and to not take multiples of items if possible. Obair staff member Siobhán will be there every Wed to assist members with their shopping.

This project is kindly supported by Charities of America Foundation who are represented in the Shannon area through Idex Pump Technologies. Obair utilises this funding to supply this food locally every week and uses local shops as well as Foodcloud. Foodcloud are a social enterprise like Obair who collect and redistribute food from supermarkets and suppliers to charities and community groups in their area. We are proud to have been partnering with them for over 7 years now since they opened their hub in the West of Ireland.
