The Local Development Social Inclusion Programme liases with the VEC to provide programmes locally in the Family Centre. Some of the VEC departments involved in providing educational programmes locally include the Clare Reading and Writing Scheme, Community Education and the Back to Education Initiative (BTEI).
The following VEC programmes are organising for the autumn. If you are interested in any of the programmes listed, please contact the Obair reception at 061 368030 between the hours of 1pm - 5pm daily.
- Adult Basic Education Programme (ITABE)
- 3 mornings per week, Mon., Tues., & Wed.
- Optional FETAC Accredited
BTEI programmes are available in the new VEC centre in Shannon. BTEI offers national certification. For people in receipt of social welfare payments tuition is provided free. Other unwaged people with less than upper second level education a reduction in fees will apply. For all others a fee will be charged. There is no fee to participate in the Adult Basic Education Programme listed above.
