The Environmental Panel

Welcome to Newmarket-on-Fergus

Through the dedicated work and planning of the voluntary Environmental Panel the village of Newmarket-on-Fergus and its surrounds are in a very presentable condition and this has been noted by a substantial increase in our Tidy Towns marks for 2006, with formal recognition being the awarding of the county merit award to our village.

O'Regan Park

We have erected new raised stone rose beds at the Ministers Cross and have replaced many trees on the approach roads to the village. In conjunction with Clare County Council we have installed lighting in O’Regan Park and are in the process of erecting a sculpture to commemorate “Kathleen’s Wier” (Cora Chaithlin). This sculpture is located in the village green and includes lighting and a water feature and is an ideal center piece to the village.
